One of the best pure image projectors remains the BenQ HT2050a. There is no mention of creative frame interpolation. Support 120hz, but they support it from a source, like a game system, which provides a 120hz signal. I'm not sure which inexpensive movdels offer 120hz frame interpolation. DLP chips haven't improved much and may have moved slightly backwards in terms of quality. With that said, I have a very hard time recommending any upgrade at all unless your projector is having some issues. So, you can expect results very similar to the 141x. At 4K, you are at the bottom end of what is offered. With some lights on, it still is quite usable.Īt $1,000 you are still working the entry level side of things. In a dark room, 1,000 color calibrated lumens is MORE than enough for a 120" diagonal screen size. Which doesn't mean one or the other can't be connected, but often claims of 2,200 lumens means that it can deliver 1,800 color calibrated lumens while the 141x delivered only about 1,100 color calibrated lumens. I wish people would stop looking at made up BS specifications and going THIS IS WHAT I NEED!!!įor good colors, you need the most color calibrated lumens possible, and this doesn't come from a high lumen claim, but actual test results. Do you need something with the same throw, or do you have placement flexibility?ģ,000 lumens is a joke since the 141x couldn't come close to that with reasonable colors. If any part of the chain isn't up to speed, then the whole thing doesn't work.Īlso, the 141x had a pretty narrow placement area. This includes cabling which supports 18Gb/s data rates, 4K source(s), a 4K receiver, etc. If requesting 4K, do you have any 4K equipment? Is ALL of your equipment 4K? If not, then you may have issues.
